I asked around, and realized that when one thinks of the word ‘Humanity', most people either visualize public figures who have reached out to humans, OR associate the word with the Almighty's creation. I vouch for both of those, but more than that, I wonder as why is it that when we think of the word ‘humanity' we never think of our selves as part of that picture?
‘ Humanity ' – aahh that has to be ME, my role in it and above all how I am connected to all of it – to those public figures, to being a part of the Almighty's creation and to contemplating the possibility that ‘ Humanity ' is the Creator's most passionate creation. You and I are a big part of this ‘ Humanity '. ‘ Humanity ' is the goodness and the purity that GOD had in mind for you to be like, and it is up to you and me to make sure that ‘ Humanity ' does not stray in anyway.
We are ‘travelers' here. It is like going to a theme park, except this particular one is FREE. When we go to a theme park, we go to experience the rides, the moment. Why aren't we doing that in life? Imagine if you can, that you go to a theme park, you get on a ride that you either loved or made you sick and regardless of which you leave the ride, leaving it so that the next person can enjoy the ride. You do not vandalize the seat do you? The last think on your mind is the race, belief and/or colour of the next person who is going to enjoy the ride. It is so simple. If it is so simple in the surroundings of a theme park, then what makes it so complicated in the biggest, coolest and free experience of them all called life?
When you go through life, it is beautiful and important to be aware of what you have around you, to experience it so that you can see what GOD has made for you. Come on you pay attention to what man has made in a theme park, plus you pay for it, whereas this is free. After having done that, Oh traveler you now need to leave the seat (that moment) so that your fellow travelers who will pass through that experience can enjoy this experience and moment too. Is this ‘Humanity'? Why not?
Having come across someone who has been to the same theme park as you, been on the same ride as you – what happens? There is a bond that gets established. Nothing profound, but you both have been there, done it and perhaps got the t-shirt. You guys paid, went on a ride and found something in common. What about the biggest ride, that you have always been a part of, it's free and you never found that to be a common element to bond with? Is it that we need man made parameters to connect with each other? Does it have to be the visit to the same theme park, the same ride to same countries, same religions, same names? What about the biggest connection of all – my fellow creation, not depending on any man made things, but just on the one thing alone – we both belong to the same GOD. One world, one faith, one race. One colour, on just a different face. Isn't this humanity? Why not?
Sorry I've got this theme park hypnotizing my mind as I write this, so here's a final scenario. At the theme park, somebody falls into the pond as you run there, to rescue or as a spectator. You feel a connection with the victim, coz that person is in the same park with you. When was the last time you did this in the theme park called life? Did you ever rescue? What is rescuing? Jumping into the pond and help the person out is one way, but if you can't do that you definitely consciously or subconsciously plead for help, either loudly to people around you or silently to the GOD listening to you. There are earthquakes, there are floods, there is war to things like murder, rape, suicide. Where is your rescue effort my fellow traveler? Even as a spectator how long are you looking at this for? Surely not until the victim has been saved, as you would have done in the theme park. What is the matter my fellow traveler, don't you feel one with your fellow visitors in this theme park called life? Well if you don't, then you should. Is this Humanity? Why not?
Being able to appreciate the moment, being able to connect a bond with your fellow travelers, being able to feel the suffering of the victim and doing something about it until it is rescued. This is humanity. This is you, this is me. This is our role. This is ‘humanity'. Do not judge who will follow your footsteps on every ride in life, leave the moment so that the other person can relish it the way you did. Do not be petty and look to create an association with people based on similarities that can be associated to man-made things. You already are one with everyone in this theme park called life. Races, Colours, Beliefs, Religions are like different accessories in this life, do not make them your entire life. In my prayers, in hope, in faith, I ask you to open up to embrace GOD's creation, to unconditionally embrace your fellow travelers and the rest of this immense and beautiful creation. In doing so I see you opening up to yourself and in there you will find, what we mere mortals call ‘humanity'.
God is listening, God is watching, God is most merciful.
